静岡生まれ、トラックメイカー/DJ。
ヒップホップのコア、サンプリングを主軸に「音楽と日常の共存」をテーマに掲げ、日々活動中。

『 The Music is Any Moments in Life 』 生活していく中で感じた事を音で表現し、自らの音がリスナーの生活の中に居る事を願っている。“眠りにつく直前の安らぎ” “本を開くときの凛とした気持ち”そんな風に場面と心情との関連性を重視して音を創り上げる。「DJ OKAWARI」という名前は、常に満足することなく、常に新たなものを模索し、常に挑戦し続けるところに由来する。

デビュー前から、My Spaceにて「Calmをブレイクビーツで表現したかのようなサウンド」と評され、大きな話題となる。2008年5月にデビューアルバム「DIORAMA」をリリース。ファーストアルバムにも関わらず、ヴィレッジ・ヴァンガードで先行発売され、リスニングミュージックとして昇華されたヒップホップの新たな指針として幅広く好評を博している。また、iTunes Storeにて異例のロングランセールスを記録する。その後もFive Deezとの共演、Francfrancのコンピレーションアルバムに参加、Grand Gallery Presentsによるコンピレーションアルバム「Melancholy」にて久石 譲やCalm、Daishi Dance等と共に楽曲が収録される等、精力的な活動を続ける中、2009年6月には早くも2ndアルバム「MIRROR」をリリース。DJ OKAWARI印とも言うべきジャジーでエレガントなヒップホップに女性シンガーによる英語詞での歌をフィーチャーし、新たなる地平線を望んだその内容には多くの賛辞が寄せられ、今だに好調なセールスを記録中。iTunes StoreでもHip Hop部門などで常にランキング上位を席巻している。また、そのアルバムに収録されている"Luv Letter"がバンクーバーオリンピックにて日本男子フィギュアスケート史上初の銅メダル、世界選手権では日本男子フィギュアスケート史上初の金メダルを獲得した高橋大輔選手の2009～2010シーズンのエキシビジョン・プログラムに選ばれ、大きな話題となる。その後も数多くの作品に参加、その勢いはとどまることを知らず、日本のメロディアスなヒップホップシーンの代表的アーティストとして、多くのリスナーからの期待と注目を集めている。
